A strange robot is created by ATR/Systec Akazama, the Mulu Socia 3.0 eyeball robot. It is being shown at the International Modern Hospital Show 2006 in Tokyo this week. The robot interacts using voice recognition, speech and even face recognition. Click “Continue Reading” to watch the video clip.

Computer science and engineering students at the University of South Florida in Tampa have created an Intelligent Scarecrow that uses a computer, Internet camera and imaging software to detect birds around fish ponds and scare them away with loud noises and water jets.

It’s two feet long, swims more or less like a real shark. I am not sure if you can scare people with this robot shark circling around in a pool. You can try it.

After winning desert race in 2005, Stanford University robotics experts have begun work on a car that will drive itself from San Francisco City Hall to downtown Los Angeles in October 2007 without human control. Although the plan is to allow robot car to drive the whole way, but a human driver will be in the car in case the robot freaks out.
