This is for all of the people who order chicken from a Chinese restaurant and you will know what i mean after you see all the pictures. I get these pictures from my friend. I do not know if that is true or not. Anyone ever read this news before or know it? please let me know and i will credit to you. But, i know that there are some people who eat rats! yucks..

I have had squirrel and rabbit stew. It was very good. Physically rats are very similar to squirrels. If the rats are raised in a hygienic fashion and not picked from the streets or local garbage refuse localities then it is an acceptable protein addition to the dinner table.

Its a way of life, if you grew up with rats instead of dogs as pets you would probably not be okay with eating them. I agree with the more level headed (and ledgible) of the group rats are anatomically no different than any other animal. And if you have ever been to a resteraunt chances are that you are eating something made in less than ideal conditions. I’ve worked in several diners and find alot of practices a little under par (bugs floating in the water cooler, picking meat up off the floor, that kinda thing) so what you’re eating probably isnt that clean anyway…

Really. That’s sick. But if you can eat a pig or chicken, how much different is eating a rat? It’s just that they look dirty and nasty but they aren’t nearly as dirty as farm animals and pigs at pork farms. Like seriously, think about it. Plus, it’s the circle of life. It’s not disgusting, nor is it any different from any chicken or pig or beef you find on farms. They do have rat farms and they keep it in a hygienic area so it’s alright. I found the story about this. It was in Newark, New Jersey.
A gas service man was doing maintenance in the basement for the business next door to this restaurant. He saw a cook down there cooking what he thought was chicken however he was bothered to see a bunch of dead rats all around on the floor so he contacted public health. Later that day an inspector came but found no rats in the basement. Where did they all go? So behind the building he comes upon all the things you see in the pictures. The people preparing the rats.
I guess they didn’t even know they were doing anything wrong. Must be immigrants and that’s why they are just showing all that shit for the pictures rather than trying to hide it.

Chinese is the most prefferd ethnic food in the US, now does’nt that suprise you. Before you judge on what ppl eat, try it first or watch Bizzare Foods on the Food Network channel. The earlier days of the Vietnam War in 1967, POWs would eat just about anything to survive, for example, Insects, Rats, Snakes and Algea. They seemed to be okay with it, life or death? If it was a quick kill I probably wouldn’t have a problem. Unfortunately It looks like they are washed (the rats panicking in the picture and then next step is slow propane torch. Not really a quick kill. People that are disgusted by this street market process probably would never want to see how cows and chickens in the US are prepared and sluiced through machines before they get to the supermarket.
I think its seeing this process done in the street that makes it too gritty for some people. You want interesting go try balut!

Ummm if you guy think this is gross…then don’t eat it. But it tastes good people eat it and everybody likes it. Think if you have ever had venison (dear meat) that is one of lifes most beautiful creatures. But they didn’t pet them then feed ‘em some tranks. I used to live in China… northern China.
People in northern China didn’t eat rat, but they told me people in southern China did. I remember seeing TV shows there where they showed people from northern China getting disgusted at stuff just like this. There was a dare show where they had some people from the Beijing area being horrified by roast rat and scorpions on a stick (no, I’m not kidding).
So I’m glad I lived in northern China!

If you’re going to eat a cow, pig, chicken or other “approved” animal then what’s really stopping you from eating another type of animal?
So they eat rats, cats, and dogs in Asia - they also eat those cute little guinea pigs in Peru. It happens…
I didn’t climb all the way to the top of the food chain not to eat those below me… ha ha! I forgot which comedian said that line.
But seriously, I’m a vegan. As a practicing Buddhist, I believe that all animals are sentient beings (meaning that they are capable of thought, feelings, emotions, etc) and have the ability (like me) to become enlightened and to escape their mundane existence. Just as I would not want to be eaten - so I don’t eat animals either.
It’s a choice I make for me. But I don’t condemn nor criticize those that do. We all have to live and how we choose to live our lives will determine what happens after we leave this one.
