Huggy robot for hospitalised children

The hospitalised children will not get bored anymore in the future. Robotics & Multibody Research Group from Brussels University is developing Anty which is an intelligent huggy robot that can entertain long-term hospitalised children.
The robot will have the ability to talk, walk, hug and show feelings. Besides that, Anty will be able to develop difference personalities to avoid the kid get bored with him.
A screen will be added in its stomach to transmit explanations about a forthcoming operation or to display games for the child to play. A first prototype is to be expected in 2007. The robot will weight maximun 4KG and 70cm high.
